Test and review requirements for operational promotion on linux and MacOSX

This page defines test requirements and review required for the initial release of Ska3 that will be flight-configured and formally approved for use in flight operations, including load review and mission planning.

Testing

Linux supported platforms:

  • 64-bit CentOS-6 on HEAD network

  • 64-bit CentOS-7 on HEAD network

  • 64-bit CentOS-5 on GRETA network (chimchim)

  • Pass applicable ska_testr tests on supported platforms. Some tests cannot run due to unavailable resources, or a non-requirement (e.g. updating Ska eng archive is done on Ska2, so the update/long regression tests are not required on Ska3).

  • Pass ACIS ops tests for load review software include LR script, non-load event tools and ACIS thermal model checks using CentOS-7 on HEAD.

MacOSX supported platform:

  • High Sierra (may work on others)

  • Pass applicable ska_testr tests on supported platform.

  • Advertise code and documentation to ops community for review and comment.

  • Formal approval at LR board (Wolk as FD)

Deployment

  • Ska3 is already installed on the supported platforms so no installation is required.
  • Permissions for the Matlab-32 environment (used in FOT Matlab tools) may need update following approval of the first FOT Matlab tools release that uses Ska3.
