FxA Affected versions:

  • 1.275.0

Prerequisites:

  • Do not have an FxA acc created
  • Be in the sign up sign in page ("Enter your email")

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Enter an email which is not associated with an Fx account;
  2. On the "Set your password" page enter valid data for password and age;
  3. From the "Get more from Mozilla" check one of the options;
  4. Finalize the account creation flow;
  5. Sign in with the created account;
  6. From the Settings page access the "Email preferences" option;
  7. Re-confirm the sign in;
  8. On the "Email preferences page", observe the checked options from the "Subscribe" section;

Expected results:

  • The checked options at the account creation are properly displayed in the Email preferences;

Actual results:

  • Only the default option is checked, the "Welcome emails";

Notes:

  • If the "Security & privacy news and updates" was selected at creation, in Email preferences the following should be checked: "Welcome emails...", "Mozilla Accounts" and "Security & Privacy News"
    - for this option the "Mozilla Accounts" and "Security & Privacy News" options are not even displayed on the page
  • If the "Early access to test new products" was selected at creation, in Email preferences the following should be checked: "Welcome emails...", "New product testing"
  • If the "Help keep the internet healthy" was selected at creation, in Email preferences the following should be checked: "Welcome emails...", "Take Action for the Internet"
  • If all 3 options were selected at creation, in Email preferences the following should be checked: "Welcome emails...", "New product testing", "Mozilla Accounts", "Security & Privacy News", "Take Action for the Internet"
  • This is only reproducible on STAGE
