In vanilla, when a pawn is nuzzled, he might form a bond with the animal. Sometimes, the pawn's handling skill is not high enough for that animal, thus he won't be the master.
I think of Lassie, who bonded with a small child which would be eaten by any other animal apart from Lassie. AO could allow those pawns to become the master ignoring the handling skills.
