Building TRULY peer-to-peer marketplaces with Origin Protocol

Almost 25 years ago, the way people bought and sold goods and services would forever change with the advent of Craiglist and eBay. Rather than buying directly from businesses, users would be able to buy and sell with one another. Since then, many innovative marketplaces have grown to incredible sizes using this framework. While they are often described as peer-to-peer marketplaces, the truth is that they are more accurately peer-to-giant-corporate-monopoly-to-peer marketplaces with a rent-seeking middleman sitting in the middle of every transaction, collecting egregious fees along the way.

By building on the Ethereum blockchain, Origin Protocol has created a platform to enable developers and entrepreneurs to quickly create decentralized marketplaces that are truly peer-to-peer in nature. Our code base is 100% open source and we do all of our collaboration and communication out in the open. Come join us on our mission to enable TRULY peer-to-peer commerce!
