Description

A user reports an issue where moving a newly downloaded episode in the queue often causes it to reset to its original position. This typically occurs during or right after downloading an episode, especially when moving it from the top position. The problem seems random and has persisted for over a year. However, after the episode is moved a second time, it remains in place.

Step-by-step reproduction instructions

We weren't able to replicate, but the user shared the following steps:

  1. They started downloading a new episode and added it to the queue.
  2. Opened the queue and moved the episode down a couple of positions.
  3. The episode immediately moved back to the top position of the queue on its own.
  4. They then moved the episode down a couple of positions again and this time it stayed put.

I get this pretty frequently at least a few times a week it's pretty random & yes it's tied to downloading an episode and once the episode is downloaded it can jump back, I don't think it can be fixed tho because of the in-between nature of things & for me it's annoying but eh, hopefully someday 😉

It would be good to get a video of this happening, as it might give us clues on how to repeat and fix it. Or can you tell me what I'm doing in this video that's different? As I can't repeat it.

@CookieyedCodes You mentioned that this issue happened to you when you are downloading an episode and once it's finished it can be moved back to the original position. I tried two different approaches to reproduce this issue, but all of them worked as expected. When you saw this issue you did the same steps that I did in one of the scenarios?

Something to note is everything in my upnext is downloaded and I have a large amount of add to upnext feeds-close to 400-, I think it's only happens to add to upnext podcasts that are auto downloading, again it is quite rare tbh 🤔 but at least twice a week but have been haveing it for years 🤔
